Our Restoration Process

Phase 1
  • Interior tear-down:  carpets, seats, door panels, headliner, dash, wiring and full assembly.
  • Exterior disassembly:  everything is removed, marked, bagged, and labeled to be stored in a climate-controlled area
  • Vehicle is stripped down to bare metal, prepped and sprayed with self etching primer, then shot with a high build primer
Phase 2
  • Customer consultation before we begin rust repair
  • After consultation, parts are ordered
  • Body placed on a rotisserie and the bottom is addressed (if full rotisserie restoration)
  • Rust repair, bodywork, and fittings are completed
  • New body mounts
  • The car is removed from frame (or sub-frame); frame is torn down, painted, and reassembled
Phase 3
  • Car and panels are guide-coated, blocked, sanded, and primed multiple times to ensure straightness.  This is a very important step.
  • Double-checking all trim for fit
  • Two-part epoxy primer/sealer applied to the entire vehicle
Phase 4
  • Car jambs painted to match car's color
  • Complete reassembly: door hanging, fenders, and deck lid to check for fit
  • Sand and prep the vehicle for paint
  • Painting fenders, outer hood, outer deck lid, etc.
Phase 5
  • A series of sandings to perfect the mirror finish
  • Jambs sanded to remove any excess peel
  • Vehicle cleaned, buffed, and hand-rubbed
Phase 6
  • Reassembly of the vehicle, ensuring every part is cleaned and polished and that all parts are aligned and fit properly
  • New upholstery installation, including carpet and door panels
  • Clean and detailing to Concours standard or to customer specifications
Phase 7
  • Delivery of the vehicle to you, the customer, with a documented photographic history of the restoration
